Choosing Your Niche – Video — 10 Comments

  1. It really is so important to choose a niche that actually interests you. I have seen quite a few others fail because they didn’t put the time in because the topic they chose didn’t really mean anything to them. You have a lot of really great information here Peter. Thank-you for sharing it with us.

  2. After reading here, I’m sure that’s where I’ve gone wrong with creating my blog. I just started blogging away about anything and everything without considering my audience or narrowing my niche.

    • I had the opposite problem. I made my niche so narrow that there just wasn’t much to work with. I created a blog in order to review iPhone productivity apps that appeal to busy workers. It took about three months of steady blogging for me to realize that I sounded awfully repetitive. I completely ran out of steam and inspiration.

      • similar to a mini-site and then you need to draw lots of traffic to it. There’s only so much that you can write about and you need to be creative. thanks for your time and comment.

      • I’ve experienced this problem as well. Not only was I getting repetitive, but I just realized that even if I had very exciting content, the amount of traffic that would be pulled into that niche would still be small. I’m not sure I understand what a mini-site is but I’m very curious. Regardless, thank you for all of this great information, Pete. I love the video!

  3. What great information. I’ve never heard “niche websites” explained so eloquently. Choosing a niche is arguably one of the most important decisions you will make in your online business. I’ll have to read this article again!

    • It really is. Without focus, how can you expect to hit a target? I’ll be reading this over a few more times after I give the video a closer watch. Thank you for the article, Peter. You did a great job. I especially liked your advice about not second-guessing yourself. I have that problem often.

      • I totally agree that you need to have focus to hit your goal. There isn’t a way to hit your target without knowing what you are trying to so (end goal).
I for one have an issue with second-guessing myself.
