Categorizing the video and tags
Categories and tags help us to sort the content of our site and make it easier for our viewers to find what they’re looking for.
When you’re creating a website both categories and tags are very beneficial to use for organizing your content and SEO.
On WordPress sites, both categories and tags are used on all posts but when you create a page you will notice that there’s no place to choose a category or tags.
However, there seems to be a plugin for everything and there’s certainly a plugin for this.
Categories are meant for the broad grouping of our posted content. These are like general topics or a table of contents for your site.
Categories let your viewers know what your site is all about and to help the reader find the right kind of content on your site.
Another thing to keep in mind is that you can have sub categories but not sub pages.
Tags are meant to describe specific keywords in your posts and are like index words for your site.
Now if you had a personal blog where you write about your day to day activities you might have categories like food, travel, gaming, hiking books, etc
So if you were to write a post about gardening you could add tags like carrots, beans, and cucumbers, etc. There is a step by step video below on making my own website.
Meta title keywords and description
The Meta Title should be the keyword title that you chose for your post and the Meta description of the post can usually be 160 characters. Keywords and descriptions let you tell the search engines just what’s in your posted content or page.
Keywords are the words and/or phrases that people use when they’re searching for something on the internet, so meta description is a brief description of what your post is about.

Tool Bar Review
>>>VIDEO Make My Own Website Below!
The WordPress toolbar and menu on the left and top of the screen is pretty awesome and has everything that you would normally use for your post or page.
It can be extended by WP themes and plugins to add their own shortcuts to the toolbar. WordPress toolbar displays shortcuts dynamically. The question mark (?) on the bottom right of the opened up tool bar (open by clicking on the square box on the far right of the toolbar) will open up a list of all of the keyboard shortcuts.
Also when viewing a custom post type, or editing it, the toolbar will display links in the same context, that’s pretty cool.
The WP logo in the upper left corner of the screen is a link to the About WP page and hovering over the logo will reveal a sub-menu all about WordPress including their excellent support forum and a Lot of tutorials and videos to help when needed and answer every question that you might have.
There’s also a link to WordPress.org, documentation, and forums.
Next to the WP logo is the link to the website home page, next to that a link to WordPress and plugin updates, then link to comments and the +New icon is for starting a new post, page and adding media.
You can also do all of that through the vertical menu on the left. Along the top menu is a view post icon to see what the post being worked on will look like on the site when posted.
- Along the left side of the page are many links to everything that’s connected to your site from posts-pages-seo-media-comments-appearance-tools-settings, etc.
- Hover over any of these and you’ll see a few or more selections to chose from, everything that you need for your site is there and along the top tool bar of your screen which has about 30 tools available for you to use.
- Take your time and check them all out so that you can see just what’s available to you when you’re building your website.
- Anything that you might lack is easily available by adding a plugin a couple of clicks away.
Adding media – pics
It’s really easy to upload pictures onto your blog page or post, on a WordPress site. All you have to do is click on the “Add Media” button and upload the image that you previously collected and have in your computer files. First, after you click on the “Add Media” button and the video library appears, you should then click on “upload file” in the upper left of the Insert Media page and then “Select files” ( in the center of the next screen ).
Then you would upload images from your “pictures” or “download” files onto your media library, and press the “Insert into post” button in the bottom right corner.
By creating a gallery (upper left corner), you can display images in a grid layout with columns and rows. You can show thumbnails for your images, and users can click on them to see the full image.
This way you will be able to show more photos in less space, and it will look a lot more professional.
WordPress comes with a built-in feature that lets you create a gallery. This feature is very basic and does not have many options, but it gets the job done.
Embedding links on your site
When you click on the insert link button, it will bring up a popup window. In the URL field, you will enter the actual hyperlink, and in the link text field you will add the text that will be linked.
>>An example would be if I wanted to embed my link into these words>>> Click Here!
First I would go get the link that I wanted to embed into my post by highlighting and copying (Ctrl-V) the address from the browser, example.. amazon.com.
I would highlight and copy the amazon link from the browser and paste it into the words “Click Here!” by… 1) highlighting the words “Click Here!”…
2) click on the “insert/edit link” seen below…and a pop up window will
appear by the highlighted words “Click Here!” Paste (Ctrl-V) the amazon.com link into the popup window and click “apply”. That’s it, pretty simple right!
